This will be our CHANGELOGs from now on.
Core changes
Mupen64
- Fix audio float overflow bugs – fixes Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, Tsumi to Batsu/Sin and Punishment (on PC)
- (iOS) Added hack to assem_arm.c’s “verify_dirty” return function to make GoldenEye work
- Alternate controls work differently now – you start with Original controls – press ‘Select’ to toggle ‘Alternate Controls’
- (Core) Added MusyX ucode for RSP HLE – fixes sound in these games – affects games like Hydro Thunder, Gauntlet Legends, Biohazard 2/Resident Evil 2, etc. Graphics in Resident Evil 2 still messed up though with RSP HLE – change to CXD4 RSP for now to render the graphics accurately.

- (Core) Some preliminary work on getting graphics to show up in Conker’s Bad Fur Day for glN64

It will take some more time, maybe for 1.0.0.2 or 1.0.0.3.

This is awesome – BTStack working on ios7! Thank you !!!!
Now the next milestone I’m looking forward to is the enabling of Hatari and UAE on ios (and on the other platforms of course). Any hint when the devs think this could happen ?

Anybody knows how to fix this error?
RetroArch [ERROR] :: GL: Invalid value.
RetroArch [ERROR] :: Cannot open video driver … Exiting …
RetroArch [ERROR] :: Fatal error received in: “init_video_input()”

Some specifics of your setup could be useful, namely OS, distro, GPU, what GPU driver are you using, etc.

Exactly the same I’m using for the last version I had, 0.9.9-wip3:
Windows 7ult x64
Radeon 6850 with Catalyst 13.4
The weird thing is, 0.9 launches ok as it is, using GL as the video driver, it refuses to update though so I’m left with the SNES core for that one only, maybe the server is down?? Then I got RetroArch-20140105-Win64-MegaPack.zip and it crashes with the mentioned message, if I manually edit the config file and set the driver to d3d9 it launches fine.
Also, has the phoenix version been discontinued??

Updater is deprecated and no longer works. There have been some changes so maybe something broke for AMD users. You should post on the forum or open an issue at github I guess

Is there anyway to add game saves from psx? i want to add a metal gear solid save with bandana and what ever else. Is there plans for gameshark to be added down the line for psx emu? Some that would be amazing.

You mean memory cards? those should be doable but I don’t know if the formats are compatible. What PSX core are you using? and in what format are the saves?

This is what I wanted to do. since RA doesn’t support cheating, I wanted to use a save that contains the bandana and stealth for metal gear solid. I tried changing file extension from .gme to .srm with no success. I used a mcr explorer transferring the files to that and over to the RA folder. When starting game i get an error that the memory card needs formatted. Where does RA get the save files from? Can it use mcr memory card files?

What coreo are you using? mednafen stores memory cards in the SYSTEM directory

It’s possible to transfer memory card files to RetroArch from other emulators. I transferred FF VII saves from psx4all to RA.

February 5, 2014 — 2:15 pm
Does psx4all support different save file types? How and what is the file type for the memory cards you used? where did you put the memory card files?
I need RA to read a save file from a psx emu from pc. All save files Ive gotten a hold of are in .GME format. I looked around for a conversion tool but I could not find any.

Downloaded the PS3 version. Seems to work pretty well. Used to use an older version.
Anyway, I have the same issue on my ps3 as I do on my ouya. I can’t get rewind or fast forward to work at all even though I selected to turn it on. I had an older version on my ps3 and rewind and fast forward worked fine. By pressing up or down on right analog stick.
Any ideas?

I’m currently having the same problem. Retroarch 1.0.0.1 running on ps3 4.55 rogero. Rewind/Fast Forward doesn’t work even though it’s enabled in the settings. Everything was working just fine in previous releases. Any way to fix the problem? Besides that, I really love this latest release.

Is there a Win32 Picodrive dll? I can only see it in the Win64 package.
AndresSM
February 17, 2014 — 3:08 am
There is not, it has some issues building in win32
Tomkun
February 17, 2014 — 4:11 am
That’s too bad. Will it ever be fixed,or is it impossible?
AndresSM

I guess it’s fixable but I don’t think anyone is working on that
Tomkun
February 20, 2014 — 6:11 am
That’s really too bad. I’ll have to be patient then as it’s far beyond me to fix. But to any developers, I’d be very grateful if you could have a look.
AndresSM
February 20, 2014 — 5:57 pm
It’s most likely a build problem only.

Thank you for your feedback ๐ I switch between pure to cache to dynamic, but nothing works. I’m using retroarch on my ipad, can that be the problem? I close all other apps when using and have a decent amount of free space. Please help

Hey conkers runs ๐ only change to cache interpreter or pure interpreter but even runs too slow at 9.6 FPS with GFX Accuracy LOW, Resolution 640×480 it works for me on iPad but I really slow ๐

February 19, 2014 — 6:37 pm
I don’t know much about iOS but I think the only way to run n64 games fast is with a dynare, and the only way to do that is to have a jailbroken device.
I don’t know if that’s your case.

Everything else with this release seems golden to me on that platform, but the overscan on my TV is pretty terrible…

First of all, great program and works excellently.
After updating the on screen commands have disappeared , same as the retroarch symbol on the top of the screen, not a big issue but is it so pose to be so? And if yes how do I use the on screen commands again (in case battery of controller runs out , or just can’t use controller).
Thank you

March 9, 2014 — 10:23 pm
I solved the same problem by getting I file on cydia and deleting the save file allowing retroarch to rebuild a fresh save after you load with an image save, I was playing exactly the same game ff7, o remember to do an image save so you don’t delete you’re work.

can anyone tell my the recommended settings for iphone4? zelda runs terribly and i don’t know what i have to change for better performance!
AndresSM
March 19, 2014 — 3:49 pm
Which Zelda?
Squarepusher
March 19, 2014 — 5:40 pm
You probably mean the N64 Zelda – and you probably have a non-jailbroken iPhone 4.
Your phone is too weak and this being a non-jailbroken device – you can’t even use the dynarec core which would make emulation MUCH faster – at least 2 to 5x the performance of the interpreter core.
So – long story short – if you insist on being non-jailbroken – either buy an A7 iDevice or live with the fact that the hardware you’re using right now is too weak to run the interpreter core at fullspeed.

if those on iOS want rice to stick (setting option that makes the games run much better tested on my iPad Mini 8.1 ) and maybe you have been confused on how to do so, a very nice person on youtube just showed how and links are in comment unless youtube pulls it …
